QU: WHAT CAN I FIND WITH A QUEST METAL DETECTOR ?

You can Literally find ANYTHING with a Quest Metal Detector!

If it's Metal (Ferrous or Non-Ferrous) within Detection Range and has Conductivity then the Quest Metal Detector will pick it up! Most times when you're first starting out you will mainly pick up Trash Items such as Bottle-Caps, Soda Cans, Ring Pulls, Rusty Nails and all kinds of junk. However, once you spend a few hours and more with your Detector you will start to be able to distinguish and Identify the sounds it's making and the Target ID numbers on the screen to associate these with the most likely determination of what's in the ground beneath you.

Often times, whether it's beginners luck or just a natural "knack" for Metal Detecting, first time users can find Coins, Jewellery and other Treasure items on their very first dig holes. It's actually quite easy and very common to Find at least 10 x Coins every time you go out over the course of a couple of hours. However in reality it will take time to Master the Art of finding Special Coins, Gold and Jewellery on an often basis.

This is where the Skill and Experience really starts to shine when using your knowledge, research, thoughts and processes to determine where the most likely "Best Targets" within a Park or Beach will be located and find them with a minimum of digging up trash items. Metal Detecting is such a past-time that you will inevitably need to dig up possibly many trash items to find the worthwhile Treasure Items. This is what keeps it fun, Challenging and Exciting! If you could master detecting in one day it wouldn't be much of a challenge would it..

Those with Great Skill and Experience can dig up over 40 x Coins and one to two Rings or pieces of Jewellery every time they go out. It's not at all uncommon for us to find at least 10 x Coins, a Couple of Badges, Matchbox Cars, World War 2 Bullets, Buckles and so on almost every time we go out for a dig, depending on the park, beach, river and location..

So the Summary Answer to this Question is You can Find literally ANYTHING you want with a Quest Metal Detector. If it's in the ground and in detection range and made of Metal, the Quest Metal Detector will let you know!

QU: CAN I FIND GOLD AND SILVER WITH A QUEST DETECTOR ?

Absolutely! 100% Verified and Proven you can find Gold and Silver Coins, Jewellery and other valuable Precious Metals with the Quest Metal Detector. We have found these for real in our testing and many other users all over the world have also reported and confirmed this. Whilst GOLD is rarer to find, we dig up SILVER almost every time we go out.

If the Gold or Silver is in the ground and within detection range of the metal detector, and you happen to hear the signal and stop and dig it up, then there is absolutely every reason the Quest Metal Detector will find you Gold and Silver Rings, Coins, Jewellery and Artefacts. Where skill and Experience come into play is listening out for the right signals.

QU: CAN I GO GOLD PROSPECTING WITH THE QUEST ?

Yes you can, However Gold Prospecting is a very challenging environment with A LOT of Mineralisation, Hot Rocks and False signals so it's not recommended for a first time amateur newcomer to Metal Detecting. Often seasoned veterans with over 30 years experience and $10,000 Top of the Range Metal Detectors still battle to find Gold out in the Goldfields.

It's simply the nature of hunting for gold nuggets.

Gold is a very Rare element and precious metal in the universe. If there was soo much of it and was soo easy to find it wouldn't command the $1500 USD per ounce price tag it currently does. Gold is Hard to find, scarce and valuable. This is why it's difficult to find. A lot of the time it has nothing to do with the Quality or Abilities of the Metal Detector itself or the operator of the detector, but simply these realities. Even Big Mining and Exploration Companies struggle to find gold nuggets, even with $100 Million Dollar Budgets and top end Equipment and Geologists with over 30 years experience!

In saying this people can and do find Gold Nuggets all the time. There's some very determined prospectors and also just Lucky ones who find Gold Nuggets often enough for us to read about it in the paper and see it on the News all the time. So it definitely is possible, we just don't want to tell you it's going to be easy! So Yes a Quest Metal Detector can find Gold in the Gold Fields using Prospecting mode and tightly customised settings and a lot of knowledge of Gold Prospecting beforehand. However we wouldn't recommend it unless you really know what you're doing and have a lot of experience digging in the outback which can often be hard rocks which need breaking open with a pick-axe or hammer.

Whilst Quest Metal Detectors are able to find Gold in Prospecting, it's not what these units were designed primarily to do. The Quest Range is mainly aimed at Hobby and Professional Metal Detecting in Parks, Beaches and Rivers, not necessarily for Gold Prospecting. If your aim is to mainly do a lot of Gold Prospecting in the outback and Gold Fields then we would recommend getting a specialised machine to do exactly that, which will most often cost in the region of $5000 to $10,000 plus all the other prospecting and survival gear you'll need.

QU: WHAT IS THE WARRANTY PERIOD OF QUEST DETECTORS ?

Quest Metal Detectors have a Warranty Period of 12 Months. Like many other Detectors and Electronics this is very standard time allocation. We will warranty and swap over your unit within the first week if it's D.O.A. (Not Working on Arrival) and you have not used it outdoors or gotten it dirty digging. After it's dirty and soiled we can only offer Repair of the unit.

We Strongly Recommend to carefully unbox your newly received Quest Metal Detector at home in a clean and dry room to make sure the unit operates correctly before heading outdoors to any parks, beaches or dig sites. We cannot accept returns once the unit is dirty as it is no longer in new condition the same as we have sent out to you.

It is therefore Strongly Advised you unbox the unit at home, checking to see all the items you ordered are all present within the carton. Also give yourself time to thoroughly read through the full instructions manual before switching on the unit. You should also put the unit on charge whilst you are reading the instructions manual. Once you have become familiar with the menu settings, buttons and layout feature, then we recommend to switch on your unit and commence inputting your desired settings.

We recommend to TURN DOWN THE SENSITIVITY to 50% to test Indoors as there will most likely be A LOT of Electrical Interference and Signals within your house that will upset the unit. Also add a couple of notches of discrimination from 0 to 20 ID to get rid of any chatter or sparky signals coming from appliances within your house.

Once you've got the setup correct and stabilised you can start testing objects in front of the search coil, the same as you see in our user submitted and media presented un-boxing videos.

If for any reason you are having troubles, Phone us on 0488 820 860 right away and we will help you through. We understand getting started with a New Metal Detector can be very technical, especially if it's your first metal detector and we are here to assist you with any questions or help you may need in setting up your device.

FIND COINS UP TO 12 INCHES DEEP WITH QUEST METAL DETECTORS AUSTRALIA

QU: HOW DEEP WILL THE QUEST METAL DETECTOR GO ..?

We can verify by Personal Testing and Experience and witnesses of other Australian Metal Detector users, and YouTube Demonstration Videos you can literally find objects down as far as 60 CM DEEP !! Yes that's over 25" Inches !!

Many times we have literally had our whole arm down a hole trying to dig out large objects the Quest Pro Metal Detector has found. In saying this though, it almost ALWAYS turns out to be Big Junk and Trash items down at those depths! Steel Pipes, Reticulation, Sprinklers, Building Rubble, Old Farm Gates, fencing Poles, Old Car Parts, you name it we've found it!

The most common Targets we find with the Quest Metal Detectors are between 6" Inches Down and 14" Inches Down. Any further than this and it's almost always like to be junk or some major infrastructure like water mains piping or Electrical piping! For this reason we recommend to Watch and take Care where you dig, especially on very Deep Targets. Most coins will be found within 12 inches depth.

Look out for Light Poles, Sprinklers and Fences or Playground equipment Structures before digging down that deep!

If you watch some of the user submitted Demonstration Videos regarding DEPTH you'll see most WORTHWHILE Targets will be picked up in the 4" Inches to 14" Inches Range, with most Pre-Decimal Coins we've found in the 8" - 10" Inch Range and as deep as 12" Inches to 14" Inches. Whilst it's possible to find even deeper the signal will be scratchy. A well experienced Detectorist will be able to hear this.

We cannot Guarantee a Quest Metal Detector will find everything at 14" Inches every single time, as so much depends on Target SIZE, Target Orientation, Target Vintage, Target Deterioration, Target Conductivity and Metal Composition, Target SHAPE and so many other variables. Also where there are other targets around adding to the signals. A coin on it's side will be more difficult to pick up at depth then facing upwards.

As many Very Experienced Metal Detectorists will tell you there are many variables as to what signal you will get at what Depth when you are metal detecting. It's probably easiest to say, with no obstructions and iron trash around the Quest Metal Detectors will quite happily find a Pre-Decimal Australian Penny anywhere from around 8" Inches down to 14" Inches Down with the Quest Q40 or Quest PRO with RAPTOR Coil.

This has been proven and shown so many times in our experience.
